“Witches’ transport, quietly waiting outside a hidden bar in Kyiv. Between shadow and sunlight, the broomsticks rest as if their riders have only stepped inside for a moment. A surreal pause in the rhythm of the city, where folklore brushes against everyday life.”
A rare piece of urban surrealism, this work speaks to collectors who love folklore, gothic charm, and street photography with a twist of magic.
A surreal street scene from Kyiv captured on traditional 35mm film: broomsticks stand upright in ornate wrought-iron bicycle racks, as if parked by witches outside a bar. The juxtaposition of everyday urban architecture with these folkloric symbols of flight creates a playful yet haunting narrative.
The sharp light and shadows of the black-and-white composition highlight the intricate metalwork, while the broomsticks suggest movement, mystery, and old-world magic. Shot on analogue film, this piece may include subtle film grain, dust specks, and scratches, authentic traces of the medium that enrich its vintage character and collectable value.
This artwork is perfect for collectors of fine art street photography, black and white urban photography, surrealism-inspired decor, and Kyiv city photography prints. It bridges urban realism with myth, folklore, and gothic imagination—a striking statement piece for interiors.
